Building the robot proved to be a challenge. The team had to build and program the robot to perform certain functions in order to score points. The team members who built and programmed the robot were referred to as "The Robot Team." The team used a packet given to them by the team's head teacher to see how to score points and how many were scored with each accomplished task. The team used this information to decide on its offensive and defensive strategy. Once the two strategies were decide "The Robot Team" brainstormed on how these strategies were to be accomplished. Once "The Robot Team" came up with the ideas on how to accomplish the strategies they set to work on building the robot. "The Robot Team" used specific parts in the robot that by using them scored points. These parts also helped the robot perform functions that would score additional points at the competition. By the end of all the meetings "The Robot Team" had built a robot that the entire robotics team believed would score the required amount of points to win the competition.
